1975 Dedication







Eula and David Wintermann are shown presenting the keys to the new Eula and David Wintermann Library building to Mrs. John Adkins, president of the Eagle Lake Study Club.

Mayor Elmer Struss of Eagle Lake, Texas accepts keys to the building on behalf of all of the citizens in the community from Mrs. Adkins. The Study Club pledged their support in maintaining the Library as an outstanding modern facility deserving of a progressive community.

Texas State Representative John Wilson of La Grange, Texas presents to Mr. and Mrs. Wintermann a Texas Flag for the new library.  The Texas Flag was flown over the state capitol building in Austin, Texas.

United States Congressman J.J. 'Jake' Pickle presents a United States Flag which flew over the nation's capitol to Mr. and Mrs. David Wintermann for use at the new library facility.  To Jake Pickle's right is Mrs. Pickle who was also present for the dedication ceremonies.

Representing the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of Eagle Lake in forming a color guard to raise the United States Flag and the Texas Flag on the library's flag pole, are Troop 334 scouts, Russell Johnson, left, and Mike Walker, right.  Mr. and Mrs Wintermann, center, present the flags to the library.

Mrs. Robert R. Wells, library board chairman, is shown presenting a plaque to be placed on the sculpture which will become a part of the library furnishings. Mrs. Wintermann presented another beautiful sculpture to the library in memory of her mother, Mary Ford Goss.
